Games, Not Licensing the Main Priority for ID Software
ID Software’s Todd Hollenshead revealed that ID is determined to keep games such as RAGE and DOOM4 the top priority at the studio while keeping licensing second, “Our philosophy really hasn’t changed from what it’s always been, which is games first, licenses second,” “Working on Rage and working on Doom [4], which are both id Tech 5 games, are certainly our top priorities.” Todd stated in a recent interview with Gamasutra,
Rage Game – Developmental Screenshots
Well, the team at ID Software has seen fit to give us a peek at some screenshots from their developmental team.

No Rage Game in 2009
Well it’s official, we wont be playing ID softwares newest game RAGE this year.
id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead has nixed the game for 2009. “No, it won’t be out this year,” he told GameTrailers TV.
With Rage not due until 2010 at the earliest, the only title coming out from id this year looks to be Wolfenstein.
Lets keep our fingers crossed that they are taking the extra time to make Rage the ultimate FPS to ever come out.

No Rage Game for Wii
John Cormack gave up some info on ID Softwares new game Rage today.
He explained to MTV Multiplayer in an interview that the Rage game technology would not be compatible with the Wii.
“MTV Multiplayer: You’ve said in the past that you don’t think id titles will be on the Wii. Is that still the case?

John Carmack was quoted as saying that the new Rage Game is still a ways away but that he has been devoting most of his time developing it.
He told fans at Quakecon that Rage will be released “When it’s fun and when it’s done. “
“Rage” to focus on gameplay over content-sharing

ID Software lead designer Matt Hooper says their new game “Rage” will focus on gameplay fidelity over user generated content.
When asked about his thoughts on user created content Matt said:“As a game player, I love it. But that doesn’t mean at the same time I can’t love a BioShock or a Call of Duty 4. You can have a focused game, and do that really well. I think that’s the important thing”
ID Software Departs From ESA

ID Software boss Todd Hollenshead says the company’s withdrawal from the Entertainment Software Association was a business decision that could be reversed down the line.
In late May id Software announced that it had opted not to renew its membership with the ESA, following in the footsteps of Activision, Vivendi and LucasArts.
